CITY OF DOVER BUILDING ORDINANCE
The City of Dover has a state building code ordinance that includes the following projects;
1. New construction or additions
2. New water heater, furnace, or air conditioner
3. Re-shingle or re-side
4. Gas fireplace or unit heater
5. Decks and fences
6. Demolitions
7. Pools or hot tubs
The City of Dover has been made aware that you may have some of the above work done recently. If so, please contact City Clerk Gary Pedersen to apply for a building permit, contact information is 507-932-4314 or dovercityclerk1@gmail.com.
The penalty for not applying for a building permit prior to construction is double the permit fees and you must have Construction Management (507 282-8206) inspect your project. Any costs incurred by you to bring your project up to state codes are the homeowner’s responsibility.
